Clarification of IL Prep Harrier/Dyestat ratings and IL XC Coaches Poll

There has been a little bit of confusion in regards to the polls and the ratings that were posted on this site yesterday.

I weekly will put up a top 25 ratings for each of the three classes both boys and girls. This is done through an analysis that I do of the results from the previous week’s meets.

The Illinois Cross Country Coaches Poll is a poll voted on by selected coaches throughout Illinois. At the present time, it is only for 3A Boys and 3A Girls and is organized by Rob Harvey of Wheaton-Warrenville South HS and Mark McCabe of Hinsdale Central HS. Both coaches asked me in August if they could publish the coaches poll on Illinois Prep Harrier.

Both of these are independent of each other and are not connected. The only connection is that they are published on Illinois Prep Harrier.
